After more than 13 years since the last update of the Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake English translation, initially done by Maarten ter Huurne and Takamichi Suzukawa, it has a new maintainer. A few of the highlights include:
- all pop-up texts are properly centered
- fixed the graphic glitch of the plastic bomb
- translated level 2 and level 3 kanji
- Japanese punctuation are changed to English standard
- many fixes in the texts
- and more...
This update fixes some small issues people reported over the years. Because of the recent developments of flash cartridges, the disk version is discontinued.
The translation is available for download as IPS patch. As an addition the demo version also got a repatch. It contains all translation fixes from the full version. It also contains translated advertisement lines.
You need the ROM image of the original version of either the game or the demo version to patch.
